Lead in Lipstick: Are Your Lips Safe?

Do you want lead in your lipstick – any any level? The FDA limits lead in color cosmetics to 20 parts per million. Check out Loreal and Maybelline, who have 7 parts per million in lipsticks, according to tests done in 2010.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics broke the story about lead in lipstick in 2007 with its report, “A Poison Kiss.” A new FDA study shows the problem is worse than the consumer advocacy group thought.
